You know, one thing about the preference for vertical shooting...in your examples, you *were* in a canyon!! haha! :-) But, certainly a good point. Many of my favorite really wide shots ARE vertical.

I was pretty happy with it too - would definitely use it again. The price point, and extra 2mm, compared to the 12-24 make it attractive. Having shot both, albeit briefly, I don't see a big difference in image quality between the two. The 12-24 is probably a skosh better, but for a coupla hundred bucks I can live without a skosh.

Please buy one and loan it to me repeatedly.

I went to the camera shop you used for the one lens on Saturday to spend a $50 gift certificate. I walked out not spending a dime. I'm not sure what it is about the sales staff there that makes me not want to buy from them but I can't believe that it is healthy for their business. Then again... maybe it's me!

I noticed the resolution as well. I think it is due to the fact that it only lets you upload a certain sized image. (there for not high res to stay in the size requirements). I'm seeing what I can to do improve the quality. For now, at least they are fun online.
